The Cold Climate Heat Pump is comparable in efficiency to geothermal systems, at a fraction of the installed cost. Any HVAC technician can install our heat pump, which is placed at a discrete location outside the home, like a central air conditioning unit. The CCHP is available in a wide range of sizes and requires no exterior ventilation.

Smart Controls and Two Stage Compressor Police Efficiency

The key to the Cold Climate Heat Pump's economy is its unique, two-cylinder compressor with a back-up booster compressor and an economizer.

The system exerts only as much power as is necessary to provide the desired level of comfort–saving money by the minute. And our defrost control will automatically detect
any efficiency reduction from frost accumulation and initiate the appropriate defrost cycle, making sure the heat pump never wastes energy.

R-410A: The Refrigerant of the Future, Available Today

Thanks to the Clean Air Act of 1990, equipment using R-22 and other environmentally damaging refrigerants will be phased out of production by 2010. The Cold Climate Heat Pump uses ultra-efficient R-410A, an EPA approved refrigerant. 1. The Primary compressor incorporates a unique system allowing two-speed operation. This means optimum heat pump performance in both heating and cooling modes.

2. The Booster compressor enables the delivery of high efficiency and comfortable output between 35°F and 15°F.

3. The Economizer- A plate heat exchanger that further allows the CCHP to maximize efficiency and comfort between 15°F and well below 0°F.

4. High and low Pressure Switches to prevent system damage if a harmful condition is detected.
